Goodbye Grocery Shopping, Hello Hungryroot

I really don’t like grocery shopping. I hate the long lines, I hate carrying a million bags, and I hate not knowing what to do with what I’ve bought and letting food rot in the fridge. If I could afford takeout every night, believe me, I would do it. Alas, I don’t have an infinite bank account (or the metabolism of a teenager) so shopping, planning out my meals, and cooking seemed like my only bleak, disappointing option. See, I don’t just hate cooking, I’m also not very good at it. I enjoy good food, but have neither the time to shop nor the skill to cook it all myself.

I thought my solution lay in Pinterest, making elaborate grocery lists for myself, planning out (and stressing out) about my shopping trips, spending hours on meal prep and recipes. But after giving it a try, I realized I was doing a ton of work (and spending a lot of time and money). That’s when I stumbled upon Hungryroot and started reading all the positive online reviews. They offer 30% off your first delivery, so I decided to try it out. What’s my verdict?

Well, let’s start with what you get. Instead of a few meals, you get tons of groceries that can become quick, healthy meals in 10 minutes or less, but also for stocking up your fridge and getting through the week. Most recipes are loaded with veggies and the good stuff. Hungryroot covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and sweets, all according to how you like to eat.

All the recipes are delicious, but to be honest, my favorite part is just how easy the food is to prepare. Everything is chopped, measured, and prepped before you start cooking, and from there, all you need for a recipe is a single pan. You literally just have to combine the ingredients to make quick, healthy meals (which is great when you’re hungry, and when you’re cleaning up after).

While I still don’t love cooking, now Hungryroot saves me from trekking to the grocery store and sends me all the food I need to refill my fridge. And while I may crave pizza every now and then, Hungryroot makes it so easy to eat healthy that I find myself rarely ordering in.
